HindSight 2005 is a database history add-on for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The system captures database operations--inserts, updates, and deletes--as they occur, writing a complete audit trail to an alternate history database. Once historical records have accumulated, the database can be queried using standard T-SQL syntax and an additional field that specifies a date and time in the past. Using this powerful feature, administrators can execute queries at a particular point in time, all without restoring backups or changing the state of the database itself.
Floor for Windows generates complete, random, equitable floor schedules for residential real estate offices. The software supports vacations, holidays, and even shift restrictions for individual agents. With four different scheduling algorithms and three unique printout formats, Floor for Windows provides the most flexible scheduling solution available. The current release features direct export of each agent's schedule to the Microsoft Outlook calendar, or to the agent's email address.
Transponder is a simple client-server system for tracking the location of portable workstations. The Transponder client silently reports its IP address every five minutes, or whenever its IP address changes. In the event that a workstation is stolen, Transponder can help locate it. If the thief attaches the stolen computer to the internet, or if the wireless network card automatically connects to an unprotected wireless network, the Transponder server will immediately receive notification of that connection.
The DARC Platform is a set of client and server software tools that help manage automated, touch-free OS migrations and software package deployments. The DARC (Deployment ARChitecture) client silently polls the DARC master server on a periodic basis, reporting hardware inventory, network connectivity, and user profile data. The DARC console provides a centralized interface for assigning packages, validating migration readiness, and controlling concurrent migrations across sites. The DARC Platform utilizes Microsoft tools and standards, including SOAP/WebServices for client-server communication and WMI for inventory discovery.
Metacast is a data-distribution technology currently in development. Metacast combines the robustness of peer-to-peer networks with the efficiency of network multicasting in order to optimize data delivery to individual nodes. Metacast networks are self-forming, with each node determining whether it is part of an existing multicast domain. If not, the node receives its data from one or more nodes in different domains. Within a domain, one node multicasts its data to all nodes present in the domain.
